Ad Space
Definition
The space on a Web page available for advertisements.
Information
Ad space was not a factor in the earliest days of Web design, but it
is now a major factor for sites that are dependent on advertising revenues.
One of the challenges of Web design is to use ad space in a way
that delivers for advertisers without alienating visitors.
Traditionally, ad space has consisted of space for banners on the top
and bottom, along with space for buttons on the left and right.
Recently, publishers have been experimenting with larger advertising
sizes including skyscraper ads and rectangle ads.
